Every year, cities around the world host festive Christmas markets. These are the perfect place to do some Christmas shopping, and of course, to wear your ugly Christmas sweater. There are many gifts for sale at these markets and they are often unique, one of a kind items, making them the ideal Christmas present. Some of these items will be hand crafted by the vender themselves, so you get to meet the person who created it. You might even be able to pick up some Christmas cookies to snack on as you do your Christmas shopping.
A couple of the largest Christmas Markets include:
The Dresden Striezelmarkt, Germanys oldest Christmas market, which attracts millions of visitors each year.
The Christkindlmarket Chicago is one of the largest Christmas markets outside of Europe. This year, the market runs from November 17-24.
Other notable Christmas markets include:
- The Toronto Christmas Market
- The Prague Christmas Market
- The Tivoli Christmas Market in Copenhagen
- The Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremburg
- And our very own Vancouver Christmas Market.
Once all those presents are purchased and wrapped, it's time to place them under the Christmas tree. Now let's just hope your dog doesn't decide to pee under the Christmas tree , or even worse, bring down the entire tree after getting tangled in Christmas lights!
